First steel rises for new terminal building

Another exciting milestone is underway at John Glenn Columbus International Airport as the first piece of steel for the new terminal building has been set in place.

Following a summer of preparing the elevated roadway structure, crews have now begun vertical construction on the terminal itself. Over the coming months, travelers and visitors will see dramatic changes as steel framing continues to rise above ground, creating the outline of Columbus’s airport of the future.
